Don Bosco captures two crowns in Victory Cup football

CEBU, Philippines – It’s mission accomplished for Don Bosco Technology Center as it bagged two titles in the Victory Cup football tournament recently in Baguio City. The Bosconians also had a pair of runner up finishes in five categories they joined in.

DBTC dominated the 10-under and 14-under classes.

DBTC defeated the Manila-based Nomads International in the 10-under class via penalty shootout, 3-1.

In the all-Don Bosco 14-under final, DBTC Team B outsmarted Team A, 1-0. Team advanced into the championship after eliminating Brent International School, while its Team B dispacted Nomads.

DBTC’s girls squad placed third in the 17-under category.

After their Baguio sojourn, the Bosconians went back to Manila to play against the varsity players of Ateneo de Manila along with the RP Under-14 squad.

Beach Football

Meanwhile, the 3rd Cebu Open beach football will kick off today in front of the San Remigio church.

At least 30 teams will see action in the tournament including Hiroshi, the University of San Carlos, University of Southern Philippines Foundation Alumni, Monger, Devil Bats, Don Bosco United, Kapuge,Vudu, and Yu.o.

In the women’s side, those who have already confirmed their entry are Cebu State College of Science and Technology, San Roque Football Club, Don Bosco Technology Center, University St. La Salle-Bacolod, Melbourne, and Football Club Cebu. — Caecent No-ot-Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
