Assessment stays second in Collector's Cup

Cebu - The Assessment Division of coach Rady Abarintos subdued the MDJL Brokers, 98-84, to stay at second place in the 35-below category of the 14th Disctrict Collector’s Cup basketball tournament at the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Sports Complex in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.

Four players scored 12 points or more as Assessment bettered its win-loss record to 2-1, just a full game behind league front-runner Amancia Brokers with a clean 3-0 slate.

Viking Rollon and Adrian Laborte scored 30 and 22 points, respectively, for Assessment.

The MJDL Brokers of coach Gigi Ylaya were led by ex-Warrior and commercial veteran Danny Infantado with 19 markers. They slipped to 2-2.

In the other games, the Port Operations Division (POD) scored an 88-80 upset over MJDL, while the Enforcement Security Services (ESS) demolished the Chamber of Customs Brokers, Inc. (CCBI) in the 35-above division.

Last Saturday, the Mactan Hotmen of Collector Bingo Matugas and coach Dacky Ugay coasted to its fourth straight win at the expense Office of the Commissioner.

Both POD and MJDL sport an even 2-2 win-loss records.

Jingjing Rama, on the other hand, exploded with 28 points to shove ESS into the wincolumn. Monroe Canillas had 14 points and Aldwin Capije scored 11 for CCBI, which remained listless in four starts.
