Jumapao Clinches masters crown in Sinulog bowling

Cebu - Jomar Jumapao bested 15 other strong contenders to walk away with the coveted masters title in the 11th Sinulog Open Bowling Tournament the other night at the Gaisano Bowlingplex.

Jumapao of Prima Pasta made up from their loss in the team competition by knocking down 1, 827 pins. He was a bit off in the seventh round, but put up a good comeback in the final of the eight-game series to secure the crown.

With the win, Jumapao went home P8,000 richer.

It was actually a one-two finish for Prima Pasta as Junjun Gothong copped the first runner-up honors with 1, 689 pinfalls.

Bede Illano gave host Bowling Tenpin Association something to brag about by coming out third overall with 1,681 pins.

 Prima Pasta 3’s Jacklynn Lim became the best placed female bowler after landing fourth with 1,679 pins. Clark Tiu of Prima Pasta 1 was fifth with 1,678 pins.

Completing the top 10 cast were Joseph Yu Sr. of CIFYA (1, 667), Jake Yap of CETBA (1,655), Clarence Tiu of Prima Pasta 2 (1,652), Docdoc Gothong of CETBA (1,600) and Michelle Lim of Prima Pasta 3 (1, 592). —Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
