CEBU - Basketball-playing parents and some faculty members of the University of San Carlos-Basic Education South Campus (USC-BED SC) will convene anew tomorrow for the opening of the 8th PTCA, Inc. basketball tournament at the school’s covered court.
South District congressional aspirant and noted businessmans-sportsman Jonathan “Atan” L. Guardo is set to grace the affair as guest of honor and speaker.
A total of 10 teams will compete in the annual sporting event among PTCA members first organized in 2000 by ex-SWU Cobra Esteban Cesar Ortega.
The opening program will promptly start at 9 am to be followed by the drawing of lots to detemine the order of play.
PTCA Board auditor Jess Gabatan will lead the oath of sportmanship, while Guardo will spearhead the ceremonial toss assisted by PRCA president Dr. Hermes Ibon.
The event is among the highlights of the USC-BED SC PTCA, Inc. Family Day celebration on December 14. During the final, there will be an exhibition game between the top players of PTCA against their PTA counterparts. – GGM (THE FREEMAN)
