SWU teams suffer contrasting fates in Metro Cebu Inter-School caging

CEBU - Southwestern University (SWU) logged its first victory at the expense of Monterey School, 49-31, in the midget division of the 1st Metro Cebu Inter-School Basketball Challenge yesterday at the Don Bosco Technology Center in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.

SWU, however, was not all happy at is mini squad was pummeled by host Don Bosco, 59-4. SWU scored only a paltry four points because they lack players during the match.

The tournament caters to young players in the mini and midget categories. It follows the developmental rule in basketball wherein all players are guaranteed to be fielded in by the coach.

Aside from USJ-R and USC-NC, six other teams are playing in the midget division in Sacred Heart School-Jesuit (SHS-J), Mary Help of Christian School (MHCS) of Minglanilla, Monterey School of Talisay, Philippine Christian Gospel School (PCGS), SWU, and DBTC.

The entries in the mini division are USC-NC, USJ-R, SHS-J, SWU, DBTC and Cebu Eastern College (CEC).

Team World manages the tournament with DBTC Administrator and Rector Fr. Lan Guiao, Boy Andoyo (event director), Harry Lim and Rey Villagracia (commissioners), and technical committee head Rey Cañete.
