CEBU - Eric Deen led the winners of the October Monthly Medal at the Cebu Country Club last Saturday.
Deen scored one-over-par 73 to claim the lowest gross honors in the 18-hole event around the par-72 layout.
The class A title went to Susumu Hangai, who carded a net score of 66 strokes off a gross 77. Runner-up honors for the premiere handicap category went to Victor Yuvallos with a net score of 68. He won the award after edging younger brother Jay, George Hong, and Jufil Sato in the countback.
Andrew Parrot scored a net 68 to win the title for class B. The Freeman columnist Valeriano ‘Bobit’ Avila finished as runner-up with his net score of 69 by edging Willy Suarez and Tony Pineda in the countback.
Abelardo ‘Billy’ Tan shot a net 65 and won the class C plum with Gilfer Alvarez taking the runner-up honors with his 66.
Fruto Teodorico had the tournament-best score of net 62 strokes off a gross 95 to rule class D. Runner-up honors went to Naotsugu Isobe with a net score of 65.
The seniors’ (60 years old and above class) title went to Joseph Yukayguan with a net score of 67 edging Serge Romero in the countback. Romero settled for the runner-up honors.
Alex Yeo won the guest division with his net 72 beating Toby Florendo in the countback. Florendo took the runner-up plum. – NLQ (THE FREEMAN)
