The Triple A All-Stars led by their president Jiji Tabaña stayed unbeaten in four games after they escaped with a 68-64 victory over AC Sports in the Triple A Summer League basketball tournament at the Kimwa gym in Mandaue City.
Down by four at halftime, 32-36, Triple A later mounted a solid defense in the third period where it launched a searing 22-3 rally to rip the game apart, 54-39, going into the final quarter.
AC Sports rallied back to forge a 64-all deadlock, but a costly passing error by Ajie Quijano to Larry Villanil foiled its comeback hopes.
Tabaña and Tony Cabucos paced Triple A with 15 and 14 points, respectively, while Rany Cruz topscored for AC Sports with 19 points followed by Villanil with 16.
