The M. Lhuillier Sports Development Foundation (MLSDF) Under-21 mainstays take their game to a new nevel as they go up against the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Selection of Boljoon in a goodwill encounter on Saturday night at the Boljoon Sports Complex.
Spearheaded by the municipal government of Boljoon under the dynamic leadership of sports-minded Mayor Deogenes “Wargong” Derama, the friendly game serves as an appetizer to the kick-off salvo of the Cebu Province Second District Summer Sports League 2008.
“I’d like to thank Mayor Wargong Derama for giving my players the opportunity to play in Boljoon. This will be an added exposure for them as they gear up for more tournaments in the future,” said MLSDF executive director Eddie B. Ybañez.
This will be the first hardcourt appearance of the MLSDF cagers since dominating the 4th M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Developmental Basketball League three weeks ago at the Consolacion Sports Complex. They beat the Pycnogenol-backed Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) Wildkittens in the final.
After Boljoon, Ybañez said his wards will see action in another out-of-town match, this time in Dalaguete upon the invitation of former pro star Aldrin Barola.—EBV
