Fitness enthusiasts tried to outdo each other in five grueling fitness regimens during the second anniversary celebration of Citigym.
These fitness buffs, mostly clients of Citigym, competed in the Spin Tour of Cebu, Step Marathon, Cardio Kickboxing, Contender 2008 and the Ultimate Fitness Challenge.
The Spin Tour of Cebu was a virtual spin cycling adventure, while the Step Marathon was a 1.5-hour non-stop, high intensity aerobics. The other events were the Cardio Kickboxing contest, Contender 2008 boxing event, and the 5-hour mini adventure race: the Ultimate Fitness Challenge.
“Activities such as these provide clients an avenue to see how far their workout has taken them, to test their strength, speed, skills, stamina and spirit. It also promotes camaraderie and sportsmanship,” said Anne Marie Manubag, Citigym Program and Fitness Director.
Winners received their awards during the awards night at the Waterfront Hotel garden.
Iko Gomos, winner of the Spin Tour of Cebu, led the awardees. The other winners in the cycling event were Dioniso Ong, Gio Borromeo and Joyce Uy as first, second and third runners-up, respectively.
Caroline Sainz emerged the champion in the kickboxing contest, while Mara Maningo finished second, Rose Yu took third place and Alexeh Lim came in fourth.
The winners in the boxing match were Aezel “Air Voyager” Aguirre, Conrad “Bamban” Matugina, Jay “Jaggernaut” Go, Gerard “Oldie But Goodie” Malixi, Jerome “Tiger” Tigley, Martin “Showtime” Grogaard, Kevin “Dream Boy” Villamor, Sheldon “The Don” Buot and Manny “Scientist” Cabahug.
In the Ultimate Fitness Challenge, the only team event in the competition, the team of Roel Gonzaga, Conrad Matuguina, John Clemence Gabisay and Grace Bautista, beat nineothers.
