Dequit finally wrests darts crown

After all the trying, Roger Dequit finally took the spotlight by lifting the champion’s trophy in the singles event of the Allan Almedilla Cup darts tournament at the Baseline Sports and Recreation Center.

Dequit defeated Rodrigo “Odong” Pamatian for the top title. Steve Montenegro came out third and Dino Bacayo fourth.

Dick-Dick Ramirez was relegated to fifth place, while the sixth to eighth placers were Yoko Quillope, Boy Campugan and Jerome Perales.

Despite placing only third in the singles category, Montenegro also has something to be proud of as he and partner Jomar Amerol topped the doubles competition.

With the odds stuck against them, Montenegro and Amerol gamely rose to the challenge and outlasted the twice-to-beat tandem of Marlito Patunob and Jerous Ponce.
