DBTC one-day bootfest attracts 100 teams

Close to 100 teams will vie for titles in the 54th Don Bosco Founder’s Day One-Day Football Festival that opens today at the Don Bosco Seminary fields.

The tournament features 11 categories that comprise Players 7, 8, 10, 12, Boys and Girls Under-14 and Under-17, Men and Women Open and 38-Above categories.

The tournament begins with a mass at 7:00 am. Fr. Jerome Constantino, rector of DBTC, will then deliver the welcome address followed by the inspirational message by Fr. Ronal Guiao, rector of DBTC, and later, will perform the ceremonial kick-off.

Rikko de Guzman, the team captain of the Team Cebu City-Football that won the POF U-15 national title, will light the symbolic urn.

Winners of the one-day tournament will receive trophies specially made by DBTC. — Marigold P. Lebumfacil
