Tour ni Frank starts today in Danao City

Lloyd Lucien Reynante will be the rider to watch, among more than 100 others, as the 6th Tour Ni Frank kicks off this morning at the Danao City Hall grounds.

Reynante is the favorite to retain his title after two-time Tour Pilipinas champion Warren Davadilla withdrew on the last minute. Frank Gatdula told The FREEMAN yesterday that Davadilla, who is an enlisted personnel in the Philippine Air Force, withdrew from the race because he was recalled to base.

Another noted cyclist, John Ricafort, a former Mountain King of the Padyak Pinoy cycling events, replaced Davadilla, and together with Eusebio Quiñones and Niño Surban, top two RP mountainbikers, should provide the challenge to Reynante.

An exciting contest is also looming in Class B where Ernie Hortaleza is seeking to repeat as champion. Standing of the way of Hortaleza are Manila-based riders Allex Billan, Ted Pascual, Ruel Gendrano and a bunch of local cyclists.

The U.S.-based Luzvimin Cycling Club led by Frank Gatdula organized the event in cooperation with the Mark Ylanan Group. The supporters include VELLUM, the City of Danao, Danao City Sports Commission, VICIKLETA, ROCKA#1 Bikeshop, and www.cebucycling.com.
