The M. Lhuillier Sports Development Foundation (MLSDF) All-Stars showed what they are made of after gunning down Horishi commercial squad in Game 4 to forge a rubbermatch in their best-of-five volleyball showdown at the Mandaue City Comprehensive National High School.
The wards of MLSDF executive director Eddie B. Ybañez spanked Horishi in straight sets, 25-13, 25-22. They won the first game of the race-to-3 series, but crumbled in the next two games over the heavily reinfoced Hiroshi side.
MLSDF is composed of former and present crop of collegiate volleyball stars in the likes of Kenette Garces, Marissa Lagancia, Ellen Pongase, Mechelle Matuguine, Aina Laroga, Jullet Mae Marikit, Joren Sanchez, and Rhea Ybañez.
The deciding Game 5 between the MLSDF All-Stars and Hiroshi will spice up the finale of the 1st M.Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Developmental Volleyball League for Boys and Girls next week at a still undetermined venue. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
