Yu tops Senior Golfers Christmas Fellowship

Jonathan Yu showed the field what familiarity of the course can do to your game as he topped the 2006 Senior Golfers' Christmas Fellowship Tournament at the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club last week.

Yu fired nines of 35 and 39 for a total of two-over-par 74 strokes that earned him the lowest gross honors.

Oscar Sanchez bagged the title for the young seniors class whooting a net score of 60 strokes off a gross 78. First runner-up for the category was Eul Flores with a net score of 62 off a gross 84 while Ed Sy finished as 2nd runner-up with a net 63 off a gross 81.

The mature seniors title went to Rod Señido with a net score of 59 strokes off a gross 78. Severino Co took the first runner-up plum with his net 64 while Bonnie Sia was second runner-up with a net score of 65.

The tournament's best net score was logged by Don Kennedy, who topped the super seniors class as he shot 57 strokes off a gross 77. Braulio Caoili finished as first runner-up with his net score of 62 while second runner-up was Tony Sikimhua with a net score of 63 strokes.- NLQ
