Sato took the lowest gross honors for the 18-hole event organized by the Cebu Friends Forever for Charity Foundation, Inc.
Ernesto 'Dodong' Siguan topped Group I with a net score of 65 strokes off a gross 77 while David Lu took the first runner-up honors with his net score of 70 strokes. Second runner-up was Ed Jones of Hawaii with a net score of 72.
The Group II title went to Joy Anthony Ong, who had a net score of 67 strokes and edged Robert Limyutiong in the countback. Limyutiong settled for the first runner-up trophy while Rico Rey Francis 'Koko' Holganza was second runner-up with his net score of 68.
The tandem of Nonoy Tirol (73) and Rene Piano (69) played excellent music at the fairways to top the team event with a total of 142 strokes and winning in the countback.
Also with 142 and finishing as first runner-up was the team of Kenneth Dyguani (72) and James Tan (70).
Second runner-up was the team of Alex Garcia (71) and Jacinto Lumyutian (72) with 143 after edging the tandems of Kim Jung Oh and Koko Holganza and Nelson Yuvallos and Roy Damole.
The boobie prize went to Ricky Paul Tio with a gross 102 while Marcelo 'Alot' Tan was the most exercised player with a gross score of 103.
The foundation also gave away a total of P1,030,000 to eight charities.
The Tsu Chi Foundation got P400,000 while the Missionaries of Charity and the emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF) each got P250,000.
The FREEMAN Foundation received P30,000 and P25,000 each was given to the San Isidro Labrador Parish, Pastor Abel Baclayon, Bethlehem Day Care Center and CEPOC Central School.
The group is backed not only by its members, but also by friends from other parts of the world and the country.
The awards ceremony was held Tuesday night at Manang Gina's Lutong Bahay along Juan Luna Ave., this city. - NLQ
