Pacquiao still eight pounds over the weight limit

As of this writing, the weight difference separating Manny Pacquiao and Erik Morales is only three pounds.

The Filipino ring icon scaled in at 138.75 pounds during the 30-day prefight weigh-in officialy supervised by a World Boxing Council (WBC) representative yesterday at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, California.

Morales came in at 142 pounds during his public weigh-in last Friday in Mexico City.

"He was on the scale wearing a shirt and his shoes - his real weight is about 136," said Pacquiao's celebrated trainer Freddie Roach in a report by fightnews.com.

Meanwhile, 15rounds.com reported that a record-breaking 19,835 have voted on Top Rank.com's 'Who Will Win - Pacquiao or Morales?' poll. Pacquiao has garnered 12,438 votes, while Morales had 7,397.

The previous Top Rank.com poll record was 16,000+ votes when Morales was picked over Pacquiao in their second fight.

"Those kind of numbers are another indicator how hot this event is," said Bob Arum of Top Rank. "Ticket sales are phenominal, as is fan interest."

Pacquiao and Morales are all set for their hotly-ancipated rubbermatch billed as "The Grand Finale" on November 18 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Promoted by Top Rank in association with Wynn Las Vegas, the Pacquiao-Morales III will be broadcast by HBO on Pay Per View basis.
