Mr. & Ms. Workout Physique b'building tilt set

Without many-time Mr. Philippines Djong Alimbullo, the rest of the Cebuano bodybuilders enjoy brighter chances of hogging the spotlight when the prestigious Mr.& Ms. Workout-Physique Philippines 2006 Men & Women Bodybuilding Championship takes place on September 30 at the newly-opened Parklane International Hotel.

The Freeman learned that Alimbullo, a fitness instructor at Workout Fitness Center, has already retired from the sport as an athlete.

Dennis Delgado, who groomed Alimbullo to become a champion bodybuilder, was dismayed over the latter's decision, but respects it nonetheless.

Delgado believes there will be other local talents who can match, if not surpass Alimbullo's achievement.

With this, a new star in bodybuilding is expected to be born in this year's Mr.&Ms.Workout-Physique Philippines.

Set as one of the highlights of Workout Fitness Center's 19th anniversary, the event features three categories: men's open pro, women's open pro and the novice pro.

The top five placers will take away attractive cash prizes, medals and plaques.

Deadline for submission of entries will be on September 10. Entry fee is pegged at P500 inclusive of a victory dinner and Mr. Olympia, Dorian Yates DVD.
