Millegen scores anew in Amateur boxing

BAGO City's Mark Gil Millegen scored a back-to-back victory after winning his assignment in the Gethsemane Parish Church Amateur Boxing Challenge at Casuntingan, Mandaue the other night.

Millegen was too much against G & E Boxing Club's Aljeard Tuñacao, who retired a minute and 20 seconds in the second round of the 54kgs division.

Late last month, Millegen was seen pulling a hard earned 2-1 victory against University of the Visayas' Marjo Borres.

While Millegen is making waves, Bukidnon's 57kgs Wingwing Haya suffered again, this time bowing to Tagbilaran's Leoncio Maratas via RSC-H, 58 seconds in the initial round.

Maratas' teammate James Bacon, however, was not as lucky with Joseph Omaña taking a 3-0 victory in the 57kgs class.

Marjo Borres, on the other hand, bounce back from his loss against Millegen as he dumped Cagayan de Oro's Mark John Yap, 3-0 in the 51kgs class.

Junrey Semblante (42kg) saved G&E from coming out winless after snatching a 2-1 win against Cabancalan NHS' Wilbeth Loberanis.

The other G&E bet, Jason Tuñacao was defeated by Zapatera's Ardie Boyose, 2-1 in the 26kgs division.

Maguikay scored two wins and a defeat with 28kgs Eddie Boy Abiar and 32kgs Gerald Suico out-punching Banilad's Marlou Tobis and Erwin San Roque, respectively.

The third Maguikay bet, Warren Mata bowed down to Talamban's KJ Pelayo, 2-1 in the 30kgs class.

Consolacion's Robert Marayan silenced Noel Calderon of Sugod, 3-0 in the 54kgs division and Jende Boy "Batang Pier" Mahusay grabbed a 2-1 win against Alberto Maluya in the 40kgs category.
