Talisay City takes 22 individual honors in Rep. Gullas Cup

Talisay City Team will be going home with 22 individual awards as the Rep Eduardo Gullas Cup basketball and volleyball tournaments hold its awarding ceremonies this Sunday at the Naga Tennis Court in the municipality of Naga.

In basketball, Talisay's Celso Colegado, Jr. was voted the Most Valuable Player and part of the mythical five along with teammate John Lester Sunga, Minglanilla's Mariano Canonigo III, San Fernando's Ruel Miranda and Carcar's Clint Florido.

Talisay's Rafael Rabaya Jr. is the best coach.

In volleyball, Talisay had 18 awards coming from the men's and women's division.

In the men's side, veteran Norvie Labuga bagged the MVP award as he lead the members of the Mythical six together with teammates Norman Kong and Ralph Bacaltos, Naga's Benito Tapdasan Jr., Carcar's John Gerald Amor and Minglanilla's Glen Oberes.

Kong will also receive the best spiker accolade while teammates Alfred Daan is the best libero, Ralph Bacaltos (best attacker), Tapdasan (best setter), Oberes (best server), Amor (best quicker), Naga's Alfred Bartolabac (best blocker) and Bon Vincent Estrera was adjudged as the Most Promising Player.

In the distaff side, Michelle Gimarino grabbed the MVP title and best setter awards.

Other members of the mythical six are best blocker Rhea Mae Cabañero, best attacker Florian Gutierrez, Most Promising Player Julia Ledesma all from Talisay along with best spiker Marie Kenneth Sinco and best server Jasmin Canencia of Carcar.
