Anthony Makinano, Harold Diano, Carlos Moreno III, Rosendo Yamyamin, Nick Cuizon, and Rodrigo Alejandre all hurdled their opponents to score a perfect 3.0 points, so far.
Makinano, who finished third in the Bangkok Chess Club Open Tournament in Thailand recently, bested Joel Pacuribot, Diano tamed NM Arnold Cadiz and Moreno subdued Jason Bermudo.
Yamyamin outpointed Edwel Alesna, while Cuizon and Alejandre whipped Fred Sandalo and Carlo Mara-at, respectively.
Sharing the temporary sixth to 10th places with 2.5 points apiece were NM Levi Mercado, Doy Arcilla, Francisco Abugho, and Mark Mangubat.
Mercado and Abugho fought to a draw, in the same way with Arcilla and Mangubat.
The champion in the seven-round Swiss system tournament will receive P3,000, while the second to fourth will pocket P2,000, P1,000, and P500. The sixth to 10th finishers will not go home empty-handed as they will receive P200 each.
