25th Halad Kang Mano Amon Run offers a lot of fun and excitement

The silver (25th) edition of the annual "Halad Kang Mano Amo Run" in Danao City this Saturday is expected to be filled a lot of fun and excitement with the addition of some side events.

Aside from the usual running competition, adding up color to this year's event is the contests for best in costume and the biggest school delegation. The organizing Danao City Sports Commission will be giving out special awards to the runner with the best in costume and another one for the team with the best outfit.

The actual running event, on the other hand, will feature 10-kilometer, 5K and 3K runs.

Participants will be divided into different categories: the premier men and women's open, all-Danao residents, executives, and school entries.

The school contingent will have the elementary, secondary and tertiary divisions for both boys and girls. The top three winners in the open and all-Danao classifications will get a uniform cash prize of P5,000, P3,000, and P1,500, respectively.

The first three finishers in the other divisions including those in the executives class get P1,000, P750 and P500.

The champion in the individual contest for the best in costume will pocket P1,000, while the second and third placers will receive P750 and P500.

The team with the best costume will get P3,000.

This year's competition marks the centennial birthday celebration of Danao's grand old man, the late Ramon Durano Sr.
