Four Cebuanos set for ASEAN Paragames

Four Cebuanos will form part of the lean, but mean Team Philippines that will compete in the 3rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Paragames slated from December 14 to 20 at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Vito Cruz, Manila.

They are Arnold Balais, Roselyn Ocampo, Antonio Abatol Noel Gonzales and Kit Reguero.

Balais and Gonzales will see action in swimming, while Ocampo competes in her favorite wheelchair event in athletics.

Reguero and Abatol, on the other hand, will strut their wares in wheelchair basketball.

Gonzales, Reguero and Abatol are neophytes in an international event, but their performances in the try-outs and other competitions they participated early on are enough for them to be considered as potential medallists for host Philippines.

The RP squad is expected to win the overall crown just like what the country did during the 23rd Southeast Asian Games staged in different parts of Luzon and Visayas.

The event opens on the 14th with acclaimed performer Lea Salonga set to sing the theme song of the 3rd ASEAN Paragames. Action proper begins the following day.
