WBO chairman for Asia Pacific Leon Panoncillo confirmed the approval of the 12-round championship bout via e-mail to revered boxing patron Antonio "Bidoy" L. Aldeguer, Amonsot's manager.
Amonsot, who hails from Tagbilaran City, Bohol and is a provincemate of reigning WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight titlist Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista, sports a 12-1-1 win-loss-draw record spiked with 10KOs.
Incidentally, Amonsot suffered his first and only defeat, so far, in Indonesia via fifth round TKO to Simson Butar Butar last February 15. He, however, won his next two fights in Indonesia against Syamsul Hidayat and Leed Shabu.
The 20-year-old Amonsot, the WBO Asia Pacific No.1 and OPBF No. 9 super featherweight contender, was awesome in his previous bout, knocking out veteran Richard Cabillo in just one round last July 20 at the Bohol Tourist Port in Tagbilaran City.
Mausol, on the other hand, is unscathed in nine fights that include one draw and four victories via stoppage.
Mausul, WBO ranked No. 14 130-pounder, won the vacant WBO Asia Pacific super featherweight plum after scoring a lopsided unanimous decision win over the previously undefeated Pratet Sor Thanikul of Thailand last April 21 at Jakarta's Indosiar Studio.
