David Chan of the organizing committee said yesterday that a total of 52 teams are expected to take part in the 18-hole event, which is one of the highlights of the Cebu Business Month celebration initiated by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The tournament will be a four-man team format with the scores of all team members to count for the team total.
The full-handicap Modified Stableford Scoring System will be used. This format awards six points for a double-eagle, five for an ace, four for eagle, three for birdie, two for par, and one for bogey.
A player, who is playing for a net double-bogey or worse must pick-up. This is meant to speed up the play. Any infraction of this rule will mean a one-point deduction from the team score.
Tee off time will start at 5:30 am.
At stake for an ace on all par-3 holes is and Omega Constellation Double Eagle Gents Watch courtesy of Zetamark Inc. If nobody can win the watch by scoring an ace, it will raffled off during the awards night.
Mulligans will be sold at P200 each, which shall entitle the player to one free shot per nine holes.
Veranda sponsors of the tournament are Skygo Marketing Corp.and Alpa Oil Mill/A.D. Gothong Manufacturing.
Other hole sponsors are Fast Cargo Logistics, Wealthbank, STI Mandaue, Chicharitos, Shamrock Bakery, Norkis Trading Corp., Sulpicio Lines Inc., Cardoc Inc., Cebu Mitsumi Inc., and Pilipinas Shell. Also supporting the event are VECO and Rudy Project.
In case a player cannot make it on time for his tee off, he will be allowed to join his flight, but will be given a score of zero on holes that have already been played.
June 1 handicaps will be used and those without a club certified handicap will play scratch (zero handicap).
