Pag-IBIG to open 10 new offices

CEBU, Philippines - The Home Mutual Development Fund (Pag-IBIG) will be opening at least ten new offices next year in the Visayas region, majority of which are in Cebu.

“This would mean bringing our services closer to the people,” said Victoria B. dela Peña, vice president of the Pag-IBIG Fund Visayas Group, during the Kapihan sa PIA yesterday.

These new offices or branches will be located in the key cities of Cebu as well as in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental and in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

Rio Teves, department manager III of Pag-IBIG Fund Cebu South Branch also reminded borrowers to avail of “PAG-IBIG non-performing Asset Resolution Program” which will already expire this coming January 31.

This program was crafted to help delinquent borrowers maintain possession or use of their properties under modified terms and conditions.

Anthony Maglungsod, assistant department manager of Pag-IBIG Fund Cebu South Branch said that application for membership with their agency can now be done thru the internet.

Once the application has been confirmed, the client will be given a Registration Tracking Number, which will serve as a temporary account number while the application is still being processed

A permanent Pag-IBIG Membership ID will be then issued and this can be used nationwide in all Pag-IBIG transactions.

“Hopefully, this will be fully implemented in 2015,” said dela Peña.

Cebu has over 733,000 Pag-IBIG members.

Sulpicio Villegas, assistant department manager of the Pag-IBIG Fund Cebu North Branch, also reported that their membership level increased by over 100 percent this year (330,849) against last year’s 302,787 or an increase of 90,363 members.
