One Cebu bets visit Liloan, distribute checks to barangays

CEBU, Philippines - Days after the alleged black propaganda materials were distributed in Barangay Catarman in Liloan town, One Cebu candidates visited the place yesterday.

A medical mission was held at the same private beach resort in sitio Tiwasan of the said barangay.

This is the same place where the Liberal Party candidates held meeting last Sunday, the same day when the black propaganda leaflets that say “Batukan Ang Lingla, Ilad, Lansis ug Insulto (B.A.L.I.L.I.) sa Atong Pinanggang Sugbo” were distributed.

The municipal government of Liloan led by Mayor Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco conducted their weekly medical mission there and more than 300 beneficiaries came.

Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, third district Rep. Pablo John “PJ” Garcia and former Danao City vice mayor Ramon “Boboy” Durano IV attended the gathering and inspected the on-going road concreting of 2.5 kilometer provincial road in barangay Catarman.

Frasco said that he brought Gov. Garcia, his mother-in-law, to see the progress of the project worth P12 million and funded by the Provincial Government.

This after a certain official, whom he refused to identify, reportedly claimed in the LP meeting that the project is his.

Gov. Garcia also turned over yesterday the checks worth P127,000 to each of the 11 barangays who participated in the Rosquillos Festival in Liloan last May.

Frasco explained how Liloan benefited from the projects given by the Provincial Government under Garcia’s administration.

“Kung dili si PJ ang sunod gobernador, mag-unsa man ta sa Liloan?” Frasco said.

He added that when LP candidates held a meeting in the same place last Sunday, they kept on attacking their opponents.

It was also when the black propaganda leaflets were reportedly distributed in the presence of Vice Governor Agnes Magpale and Provincial Board members Jude Thaddeus Sybico and Miguel Antonio Magpale to the residents in Catarman, along with its barangay captain, Jimmy Maglasang, who is running for mayor under LP.

In his speech, Pablo John said the other group is like mushrooms that only come out after a lightning.

Pablo John even criticized their battle cry for a change when they have done nothing yet.
