CEBU, Philippines - A man was found dead in a secluded area in Barangay Tabla in the town of Liloan last Friday afternoon.
The fatality remained unidentified as of press time. Police described him as around 30 to 35 years old, 5’5” tall, slim and his body was almost covered with tattoo marks. He wore a black sleeveless, cargo short pants, a cap, and a pair of slippers. Not a single gunshot or stab wound was found in his body, police said, but there were bruises on his face and body.
Chief Insp. Richard Oliver, chief of Lilo-an Police Station, said they believe that the victim is an ex-convict considering the several tattoos marked on his body. A tattoo mark that read as “Eddie” was found in the victim’s stomach area.
Oliver also theorized that the victim was salvaged and was thrown in the area.
The body was found at least three meters from the road at 2:30 p.m. yesterday by passing motorists.
Residents near the area said they saw an L300 van stopped by the area at 8 a.m. where the body was later found.
Meanwhile, an elderly woman was found floating dead in the waters off Barangay Puntod in the town of Oslob at 9 p.m. last Friday. The victim as identified as Marcella Rollon, 67, and single.
SPO1 Juvy Sarveda of Oslob Police Station said the body was found by four teenagers who went looking for spiders near the area which is near a cliff.
Sarveda said the cadaver will be submitted to an autopsy. —/JPM (FREEMAN)
