Ceres bus robbed in Tabogon town

CEBU, Philippines - A Ceres bus liner was robbed by four unidentified robbers in Barangay Libjo, Tabogon town yesterday dawn.

Tabogon police chief Insp. Lamberto Hibaya said that the bus was bound for Cebu City from Barangay Maya, Daanbantayan when the incident happened at 3:00 a.m. The robbers flagged the bus at Barangay Binabag, Bogo City.

The four young robbers believed to be in their early 20s were armed with an unknown caliber of firearm and knife. One of them wore a jacket while the other one wore a scarf to cover his face.

Two of the men sat at the back portion of the bus while the two others sat at the middle portion. Apart from them, there were five other passengers.

The bus conductor Shene Moga approached two of the robbers sitting at the middle supposedly to collect their fare. However, the robbers declared a holdup. One of the four robbers went near the driver and pointed a knife at him.

The others fired a gun in the air while declaring the holdup. Moga said she surrendered the P5,000 income in their previous trip.

One of the passengers, Cleofe Dizon, 19, also gave her P2,000 and cellular phone out of fear. After the holdup the robbers immediately alighted from the bus and disappeared. Hibaya believes that the four are just residents of Tabogon.     - THE FREEMAN
