PRO 7 wants 103 new policemen

CEBU, Philippines - For the second half of the year, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 will again be recruiting aspiring Police Officers 1.

PRO-7 will allocate a quota of 103 PO1s for this year’s 2nd Semester Attrition Recruitment Program, said Sr. Supt. Petronelli Baldebrin, acting chief of the Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Divison.

PNP applicants will have until August 15 to submit their folders at their respective cities or municipalities. The Ad Hoc Screening Committee will evaluate or initially screen their application folders at their cities or municipalities from August 15 to 31.

Eligibility requirements include any of the following - passing the National Police Commission entrance examination, a license criminologist, has obtained bar and board examinations of a baccalaureate degree, Civil Service eligibility to College Honor graduates, or Civil Service Professional Examination.

Should the applicant passes the initial screening of the Ad Hoc Screening Committee, they will complete three folders of their application, including the committee’s endorsement.

The interested applicants should then submit these personally to the RPHRDD at the Camp Sergio Osmeña in Osmeña Boulevard, Cebu City on September 3 to 4, Monday to Friday.

PRO-7 announces that the conduct of actual recruitment and selection process will be announced later. The applicants are also advised to follow the Recruitment Section on Facebook page “RSS, PRO 7 by clicking “Like.”

As general qualification standards for an applicant to be appointed as PO1, he or she must be a citizen of the Philippines; a person of good moral conduct; and must have passed the psychiatric/psychological, drug and physical tests to be administered by the PNP or by any NAPOLCOM-accredited government hospital.

The aspiring applicant must possess a formal baccalaureate degree from a recognized institution of learning; must have not been dishonorably discharged from a military employment or dismissed for cause from any civilian position in the government; and must have not be convicted for any crime involving moral turpitude.

A police officer should also be at least 1.62 meters tall for male and 1.57 for female; must weigh not more or less than five kilograms from the standard weight corresponding to his or her height, age and sex; and must not be less than 21 nor more than 30 years old. - THE FREEMAN
