CEBU, Philippines - The City Traffic Operations Management has absorbed the brother of Basak-Pardo Barangay Captain Dave Tumulak after he was allegedly kicked out of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board-7 due to political reasons.
Joy Tumulak, formerly the executive assistant of LTFRB-7 Regional Director Ahmed Cuizon, is now the assistant of CITOM executive director Rafael Christopher Yap.
To recall, Basak-Pardo Captain Dave Tumulak cried political harassment after his twin brother, Joy, was sacked from the LTFRB-7 allegedly upon the orders of Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan leader Rep. Tomas Osmeña.
Cuizon is a known ally of Osmeña. It was the latter who recommended Cuizon for the post. Cuizon assumed as LTFRB-7 director almost six months after the 2010 elections.
Cuizon denied that Joy was dismissed from LTFRB because of Osmeña’s order. He clarified that it was Joy who decided not to renew his contract after it expired last June 30.
Yap said that Joy’s appointment at City Hall is as an executive assistant of the Office of the Mayor, but assigned to CITOM.
Joy will assist CITOM as point person to coordinate the operations of CITOM and LTFRB.
Yap said he purposely requested for an assistant because he needs extra hands as the Bus Rapid Transit Project now called TransCebu will be keeping his office busy.
Yap said that Joy’s expertise and exposure in the field will be of use to the CITOM.
