2 robbers strike 5 times in one day

CEBU, Philippines - In just one day, two unidentified robbers were able to victimize five persons from the different barangays of the southern town of Badian last Thursday.

The victims who lost their cash to the two robbers were lending collectors and sales agents.

The first incident happened in Sitio Hi-way, Barangay Poblacion at around 12:30 in the afternoon where Dave Gregorio, 32 a lending collector of the BLB Finance Lending Corp. located in Talisay City, lost his valuables and cash amounting to P13,000.

PO1 Randy Balansag, of the Badian Police Station, said that they received a call informing them of the robbery incident and that the robbers were onboard a black Rusi motorcycle without a plate number.

A few minutes later, the police again received a telephone call that Jessie Jayno, 33, lost his P10, 000 collections and a cellphone worth P3,000 to the same robbers in Barangay Matutinao. Jayno is a collector of Reynaldo Lending based in Dumaguete City.

Balansag said that the robbers sped off towards Alegria town.

Upon reaching Barangay Matutinao proper, sales agent of Witgolf company, Gabriel Espiritu, 32, of Basak, Mandaue City was also robbed.

Espiritu was along the road when the back rider disembarked and aimed a gun with an undetermined caliber and declared a hold up. Espiritu lost his P5,000 to the robber.

Not far from the said place Vernon Sabal, 31, sales agent of Rebisco Biscuit was also waylaid by the robbers and lost his P6,000 proceeds.

The last victim before the robbers reached Alegria town was Eric Torano, 39, sales agent of Fiber World located in Tuyan, Naga City.

Torano surrendered his P16,000 earnings to the robbers who also aimed a gun at him.

The police personnel from Badian and Alegria responded to the alarms but despite the efforts of the policemen, the duo eluded arrest and was believed to be hiding in the mountain barangays of the area. (FREEMAN)
