CEBU, Philippines - Cebu third district Rep. Pablo John Garcia has challenged former senator John Henry “Sonny” Osmeña to go with him up in the mountain barangays after the latter accused him of not being visible to the people in the district.
Osmeña said he is confident of winning in the next elections against the incumbent congressman claiming that Garcia is seldom seen by the people.
“Si Pablo John wa na gani mobalik sa third district, tingale di na katol-tol sa third district, wa na igkita didto (Pablo John has not returned in the third district, maybe he does not know where it is anymore, he has not been seen there),” Osmeña said.
Garcia belied Osmeña’s claim saying he just been to Barangays Sibago and Lut-od in Pinamungahan and Barangay Gaas in Balamban recently.
“Maypa kuyog nalang si Sonny namo ug tungas sa bukid, padad-a lang siya ug tig-agak (Sonny should come with us in the mountain, just let him bring somebody to carry him,)” Garcia said.
Osmeña is confident that he will force Garcia to retire from politics after the 2013 elections.
Osmeña earlier announced his political come back in the third district which he used to represent in the House of Representatives in 1995.
Osmeña has accused Garcia of using the people in the third district engineering office to promote the latter’s reelection by putting his name on the project billboards which are allegedly not his.
“Maayo raba unta’g gwapo siya, iya butangan og litrato maghatag siya og impression nga siya’y nagpahimo (It’s good if he is handsome, he puts on his picture giving impression that he was building it),” Osmeña lamented. — (FREEMAN)
