CEBU, Philippines - For allegedly mauling a 16-year old boy, the barangay captain of Hilantagaan, Sta. Fe and three others face charges before the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
The victim, assisted by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), filed a complaint against Barangay captain Jenor Marabe, Tato Illustrisimo, Dumon Illustrisimo and Junrel Premacio for violation of Republic Act 7610.
The victim claimed the respondents mauled him on December 17, 2010.
Earlier reports stated that the victim was drunk when he was allegedly mauled by the respondents during a benefit dance. He reportedly refused to pay the P10 - entrance fee, resulting in an argument.
It was reported that one of the Illustrisimos punched the boy in the face, and that Premacio and the barangay captain later arrived and allegedly joined in the mauling.
Marabe also allegedly pulled a gun and hit the victim on his head.
A medical certificate revealed that the victim had contusions on the different parts of his body. Marabe had denied the allegation, saying he is willing to face the complaint. He said politics is behind the issue.
He also said that the victim is known for being a troublemaker in their barangay. This was confirmed by SPO1 Shiela Illustrisimo, Women’s and Children’s Protection Desk officer of the Sta. Fe Police Station. (FREEMAN)
