CEBU, Philippines - A nurse lost assorted pieces of jewelry amounting to P600,000 after her house in Sola Homes, Barangay Guiwang in the southern town of Alcoy was burglarized.
Clarinda Regis, 37, said she learned about the incident through a phone call from her house help, Ana Plando, 39. Regis was in her house in Cebu City at the time of the incident.
After inventory, Regis found out that the burglars took six gold bracelets worth P120,000; 10 assorted gold necklaces P300,000; five assorted gold rings worth P150,000; 10 pairs of assorted earrings P50,000; and three Fossil wrist watches worth P30,000.
All the items were kept inside a jewelry box on top of a mini table insider Regis’ bedroom.
PO2 Herbert Pananganan of the Alcoy police said the burglary might have happened during the time from Tuesday evening until early morning last Thursday.
Pananganan said the suspect(s) entered the house by forcibly destroying the padlock of the metal grill door first before destroying the lock of the sliding glass door at the master’s bedroom.
Regis’ house is situated on a hilly portion facing the sea and the only way to enter is through the main door. However, during high tide, it may be possible to enter through the terrace at the back.
“Inig taob ang dagat muabot na sa terrace so possible didto agi una gilungkab ang kwarto,” Pananganan said.
He added that the burglar(s) seemed professionals because there was almost no trace of the entry and left no finger prints. It is also possible that the suspect(s) are familiar with the place.
“Finger print na lang unta to among paglaum pero planado man ang pagkabuhat unya limpyo ang agi,” Pananganan told The FREEMAN.
