CEBU, Philippines - A young man died while two others are still fighting for their lives after separate vehicular accidents in Cebu last Friday and Saturday.
Aldo Flores died on the spot after slamming a motorcycle he was driving on a concrete culvert in Barangay Langtad, Naga City yesterday dawn.
Police investigation shows that the victim was drunk while driving his motorcycle.
The victim allegedly drove the motorcycle of one of his drinking buddies and sped off without the owner’s consent.
Flores was rushed to South General Hospital but did not make it alive.
In another incident, a tricycle driver and his passenger are in critical condition after they collided into a car in Barangay Binabag, Bogo City Friday evening.
The victims were identified as Jomar Alburo, 24, resident of Barangay Bungtod, and his passenger Joebert Raymundo, 17, of Barangay Dakit.
The two collided into a white Kia double cab driven by Wetsel Judilla, 32, resident of Maguikay, Mandaue City.
Alburo allegedly cut in on the opposite lane while trying to avoid a pothole on the road while maneuvering downhill and caught up with the speeding Kia pick. Because of the impact the tricycle was dragged 14 meters away.
Alburo and Raymundo were rushed to the Bogo District Hospital but were later transferred to a hospital in Cebu City following the instruction of the doctor owing to their serious condition.
Judilla was taken to the police station for investigation but was later released by the police. His license was confiscated though.
Meanwhile, a 21-year-old farmer from Tulang, Argao was found floating on the river last Friday.
Jestony Panerio, 21, was reported missing by his live-in partner since November 16. He was believed to have drowned in the river. (FREEMAN)
