CEBU, Philippines - Two died in separate shooting incidents involving motorcycle-riding men in Cebu City yesterday.
In Sitio Kalubihan, Barangay Basak San Nicolas, 42-year-old Reynaldo Dollete died of a gunshot wound in the head. According to witnesses, he was shot point blank by an unidentified man who simply walked away after the shooting, heading to a waiting motorcycle.
About 12:00 midnight, Dollete was playing “hantak” with friends at a vacant lot when they heard a motorcycle stopped at a distance.
An armed man disembarked and went straight to Dollete. People heard a single gunfire and saw the victim fell, bloodied.
SPO4 Alex Dacua, homicide investigator of the Cebu City Police Office, said that they learned during investigation that a neighbor had a grudge with the victim.
Dacua said they have yet to get more details on this lead, even as witnesses failed to identify the assailant.
Meanwhile, a 41-year-old man was killed while looking for some multicab spare parts along N. Bacalso Ave. in Barangay Basak-Pardo, Cebu City about midday,
Duani Saranillo of Barangay Biasong, Talisay City was shot dead by unidentified man who boarded a waiting motorcycle.
Duani was with his wife, Evelyn and their 14-year-old son in their multicab, looking for a radiator.
He stopped their vehicle and disembarked, with his wife and son remaining inside. A witness saw the victim had an argument with a chubby woman before he was shot by the gunman.
He was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center but he was declared dead on arrival. — (FREEMAN)
