CEBU, Philippines - The United States of America (USA) Embassy will bring “America in 3D” to Cebu City.
In a press statement by Embassy Information Officer Yolly de Guzman, U.S. Ambassador Harry K. Thomas, Jr. said the 3D experience will be made up of musical and dance performances of American genres, including blues, country music, hip-hop, Broadway, and contemporary hits.
The event will also highlight American culture, values, and the services the US is giving the Philippines. The event will run from 10am to 9pm from September 16 to 18.
“There will be free samplings of American food, information about applying for visas and how to study in the United States, and representatives of two American companies—Accenture and Lexmark—will accept resumes for careers in their companies,” De Guzman said.
Aside from these, the “America in 3D” would also allow Cebuanos to meet and interact with representatives of various sections of the US Embassy, including the Visa Section, Department of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. Commercial Service, United States Agency for International Development, the Foreign Agricultural Service, Peace Corps, and Philippine-American Educational Foundation (Fulbright Commission).
“America in 3D” is a nationwide initiative that takes the Embassy on the road throughout the Philippines in order to deepen the relationship between Americans and Filipinos. Cebu City will be the third stop of the program following Quezon City last March and Baguio City last July. (FREEMAN)
