CEBU, Philippines - A 25-year-old man who tried to pacify two people arguing with each other ended up being stabbed at least three times in Barangay Cogon Pardo shortly before midnight yesterday.
Rizaldo Siaton is in a serious condition after he was hit on both sides of his body and on his knee. The suspect, identified only as a certain “King,” was the same person who Siaton saw also stabbing his uncle Junbell Abello, 27.
Investigation showed that Abello, a restaurant cook, was drinking with his friends in front of a store in sitio Apple before midnight yesterday when he saw the suspect pass by them.
In an attempt to settle a prior altercation, Abello approached the suspect, who also happens to be his neighbor, but instead of heeding, the suspect allegedly raised his voice and the two ended up in a fistfight.
Siaton, who happened to pass by the area along with Abellos’ son, reportedly saw King pull out a knife and tried to stab Abello.
Siaton tried to intervene, but King turned his ire on him and stabbed him several times.
The uncle and nephew were rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center while the suspect was able to flee. King is now the subject of a manhunt operation by the police. — (FREEMAN)
