Policemen raising cash as reward for Santos' arrest

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Police Office will be having a fundraising which will be used for the effort to arrest Bella Ruby Santos.

Santos, who is still at large since July 10, is wanted over the kidnapping and killing of six-year-old Ellah Joy Pique.

She went into hiding a week after the issuance of a warrant of arrest against her and her British boyfriend, Ian Charles Griffiths.

Senior Superintendent Patrocinio Comendador, head of the Task Force Ellah Joy, initiated the fundraising idea during a staff conference yesterday morning.

Comendador said they are aiming to generate P50,000 which will be given as reward to the person who could lead to the arrest of Santos.

He explained that each CPPO member is required to give an amount.

“I believed nga kaya ra ni namo abton ug ang tanan miuyon man sab,” he said.

The amount given by each CPPO member will be based on a percentage value of his salary.

“Atong i-percentage aron balance, pananglitan mo-sweldo og P10,000 ang usa ka pulis ang iyang tampo P300 ra depende pa na. Sa Talisay dako na nga unit diha compared to other units,” Comendador explained.

He said they are willing to accept any amount from other citizens.

Comendador encouraged those who know the whereabouts of Santos to contact this number: 0918-827-7600. (FREEMAN)
