CEBU, Philippines - At least three people lost over P122,000 total worth of valuables and cash in Minglanilla and Cebu City last Monday and Tuesday.
In Minglanilla, an account manager of Coca Cola and her driver more than P100,000 worth of valuables and cash to two unidentified robbers in Barangay Lipata Monday afternoon.
Jennifer Jarantilla, 34, and driver Sanie Buchar, 37, parked their vehicle at the nearby stores in Lipata when two men riding a motorcycle arrived and pointed a .45 caliber pistol at Buchar.
The suspects then took P3,000 cash from Buchar.
“Wa pa jud natagbaw, gilabni ang B-Mobile sa babaye,” said PO1 Evie Espina.
Jarantilla said the men then took her company-issued B-mobile phone worth P78,000, Nokia E72 and Sony Ericsson phone P8,000.
In Cebu City, a man lost at least P22,000 cash when an unidentified man slashed his pocket and took his wallet inside a public utility jeepney in Barangay Kalubihan Tuesday afternoon.
Domingo Amancio, 30, of Dalaguete reported to the police that while riding a jeepney, a man sitting beside slashed his right pocket using a blade.
The victim discovered the incident shortly after he disembarked along Sanciangko Street.
Meanwhile, a boarding house was burglarized by two men in Barangay Kamputhaw Tuesday afternoon.
Sheila Gonzales Barbero, 28, a native of Danao City, lost her P11,000 cash, cellular phone, shoes and other documents when a man barged into her room just as when she went to the comfort room.
A witness said that before the incident, two persons went inside the boarding house to solicit for basketball uniforms. — (FREEMAN)
