CEBU, Philippines - A 60-year-old fisherman was found dead in the seawaters of Barangay Dungoan, Danao City after he allegedly drowned while fishing.
Police said the body of the fisherman, Guillermo Capul, was found floating at the seawaters at the back of a sugar mill around 8am. He was found by members of the Danao Police who led the search.
Capul, a resident of the neighboring town of Carmen, reportedly left their house at 3pm on Saturday together with his two neighbors Isidro Camingawan and Damiano Dingco.
He reportedly told his wife that they would be fishing in Danao, however, only Dingco and Camingawan returned home yesterday. Camingawan said Capul dived into the water, but no longer resurfaced. They reportedly tried to look for him but efforts proved futile.
Capul’s wife sought help from the Danao Police Station and a few hours later, Capul was found.
Capul’s remains were taken to the Pampangueña Memorial Homes in Barangay Dawis, Carmen. — (FREEMAN)
