CEBU, Philippines - A six-year-old girl in Barangay Villahermosa, Tabuelan town, was killed allegedly by her uncle who, in a bizarre and gruesome twist, also took out some of her internal organs.
Police said Lara Mae Concoles, the adopted daughter of Pablita Matedios was found lying supine on the floor inside her house with her abdomen sliced vertically.
Her intestines and liver were allegedly placed on a dinner plate near some salt set aside.
Police pointed to Efren Matedios, 29, as the one who gruesomely killed his own niece.
Prior to the incident, Efren asked Pablita, his mother, to let Concoles sleep beside him that evening, to which Pablita refused.
Efren allegedly got mad and went to the kitchen. He came back armed with a 14-inch long blunt bolo and went amok.
Frightened, Pablita ran outside to call for help and their neighbors called the police.
Nobody dared to go near the house because they were afraid of Efren, and Concoles was still inside the house with him.
When the police arrived several minutes later Efren was nowhere to be found, but he left the bolo and a nylon rope beside the body of Concoles.
Tabuelan chief investigator SPO3 Christopher Sanchez said they are now looking for Efren.
“Dunay reports nga nakit-an ni siya nga nangayo og kaon didto sa bukid,” Sanchez said.
The police have requested the Scene of the Crime Operations personnel to conduct an autopsy on the body of Concoles to determine whether or not she had been raped by the suspect.
“Dili nato pwede ibaliwala ang posibilidad nga reypon ni apan wala mosugot,” Sanchez said.
Police are also trying to determine of Efren is using illegal drugs or if he is a member of a cult as the removal and arrangement of the internal organs appeared ritualistic.
Police said they cannot determine yet the motive of the killing since Efren is still at large. (FREEMAN)
