CEBU, Philippines - An ex-convict was injured after he was shot by a fellow ex-convict in Barangay Carreta Thursday morning.
Reymack Avenido, 22, sustained a single gunshot wound in his left shoulder when a fellow ex-convict shot him because of an old misunderstanding while they were still inside the Cebu City Jail.
Avenido identified his “kakusa” Albert Bacarisas, 21, who is also his neighbor at Ponce II Compound in Barangay Carreta, as the suspect.
Avenido said he was on his way home at 2:00 a.m. yesterday when Bacarisas shot him twice. The suspect missed the second shot because the victim managed to run despite having hit in the shoulder.
Bacarisas allegedly tried to chase him but he was rescued by the responding barangay tanods who brought him to the Cebu City Medical Center.
The suspect was able to escape from the pursuing policemen. Bacarisas and Avenido were released from the city jail early this year after serving their respective sentence of a crime they were convicted of. (FREEMAN)
