CEBU, Philippines - Two people were killed while one other was seriously injured in a vehicular accident involving a motorcycle and a Ceres bus yesterday afternoon on the national highway in Barangay Maslog, Danao City.
Motorcycle driver Jose Lucero, resident of Sitio Malbago Barangay Luyang, Carmen, died on the spot when a north-bound Ceres bus ran over him after falling off from his motorcycle on the highway.
One of his back riders, Beethoven Oncines, of Barangay Suba, Danao City, died at the hospital because of severe head injury.
The other back rider Oliver Ondo of Cogon West, Carmen remains in critical condition at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
The victims were on their way to Danao City from Carmen when they first hit another motorcycle they were trying to overtake causing Lucero to lose control and eventually crashed.
A speeding Ceres bus driven by Julito Abayon of Mandaue City ran over Lucero who slumped on the road.
Abayon voluntarily surrendered to the responding policemen but he is still facing possible charges of reckless imprudence resulting to multiple homicide and serious physical injuries. (FREEMAN)
