CEBU, Philippines - Three hotel employees suffered electric shock after trying to hang laundry at the rooftop of the LS Pension House in R. Landon St., Cebu City, yesterday morning.
Arnel Oraca, a hotel maintenance employee, Adelaida Mareñas and Elsa Bercide, both laundry employees from Barangay Lahug, Cebu City, suffered electric shock when they tried to use a metal tube to support a laundry line.
According to pension house security guard Reynato Pacaldo the three were trying to set the metal tube in place to support the laundry line when it came into contact with the main power line of the Visayan Electric Company and they got electrocuted.
Another employee who was with them shouted for help and a utility foreman went running to the rooftop.
Receptionist, Melbeth Nuez said the three victims were unconscious when paramedics from the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation arrived.
Nuez added Oraca appears to have suffered a wound in the head after he hit the floor hard while Bercide was very pale. The three were rushed to the Chong Hua Hospital around 10:30 a.m.
As of press time, Pacaldo said that the three victims were already in stable condition.
The power supply along Junquera Ext. was temporarily interrupted following the incident. (FREEMAN)
