Liloan gets new classrooms

CEBU, Philippines - Governor Gwendolyn Garcia together with Mayor Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco led the inauguration and blessing of four classrooms in two barangays in the municipality of Liloan yesterday.

The two-classroom buildings were constructed in the Catarman Elementary School in Barangay Catarman and the Arcelo Memorial National High School in Barangay San Vicente.

In all, the province has already constructed four classrooms in Catarman while six in AMNHS.

Provincial Engineer Eulogio Pelayre said that each building costs P659,000 much lower than the standard classroom building of the Department of Public Work and Highways. The building is equipped with comfort room and is already painted.

Cebu Schools Division Superintendent Arden Monisit thanked Garcia for helping the Department of Education in constructing the classrooms.

Monisit assured Garcia of DepEd support to her program especially the planting of camote and jackfruits in school campuses as part of the Expanded Greening With the Environment Now (EGWEN) Project.

From Liloan, Garcia also attended the 91st Founding Day of Consolacion or “Adlaw sa Consolacion.”

Highlighted the “Adlaw sa Consolacion” was the “Pasundayag sa Sarok” which was participated by contingents from Consolacion National High School, Cabangahan National High School, Garing National High School, Jugan National High School, Lanipga National High School, Consolacion National High School (Night Class), Pulpogan National High School, Tayud National High School, Tolotolo National High School, Tugbungan National High School, and Consolacion Community College.

Garcia, together with Mayor Teresa Alegado, also led the inauguration of the newly-completed Jugan-Tayud Bridge. (FREEMAN NEWS)
