4 men sued for robbery and frustrated homicide

CEBU, Philippines - Three suspects in the robbery of jeepney passengers and another one in the robbery and shooting of a man in Talisay City were charged before the Regional Trial Court.

Talisay City Associate Prosecution Attorney II Jenelyn Forrosuelo recommended the filing of four counts of robbery against Rolando Sanchez, 18, from Lagtang, Talisay City; Juanito Belamia, 23, from Sitio Kawayanan I, Talisay City and Jay Lord Canoneo, 18, from Sitio Ingaoyok, Tunghaan, Minglanilla before the Regional Trial Court and recommended P800,000 each for their temporary liberty.

Forrosuelo said the three arrested accused were conniving and confederating by mutually helping each other together with Raymart Roxas and an unidentified man, who are still at-large, and robbed four victims of their belongings.

Forrosuelo added the two at-large accused will be prosecuted separately as soon as they are identified and arrested.

In a joint-complaint affidavit of the victims, Mercy Gorre, Azineth Anastacio, Dorie June Heyrosa and Edgar Eacarlan, they stated that they were robbed by the five accused January 25 at around 12:10 a.m. when they were on board a passenger multicab from Tabunok, Talisay City.

They said the unidentified accused, armed with unknown caliber of firearm, directed the driver of the jeepney to stop and then they started getting the passengers’ belongings amounting to P44,200.

Police said concerned citizens tipped them that the suspects went to a hospital as one of them was wounded after he was accidentally shot by their cohort.

The police, together with the victims, went to the hospital and positively identified the suspects as the ones who robbed them and recovered only a cell phone.

The three arrested, accused said the other items were with their two companions who are at large.

Meanwhile, another accused Fritz Abad Cesa is facing robbery with homicide case after he, together with cohorts Jesard Repe, Lyod Mangubat and a certain Jasper, who remained at-large, robbed Adamlou Olores, 36, a resident of Caduldulan, Lawaan 3, Talisay City.

Olores alleged the accused robbed him of his bracelet worth P38,000 and cell phone. — (FREEMAN)
