CEBU, Philippines - A six-year-old boy died after he accidentally slipped on the road while he was playing and was ran over by a six-wheeler truck in Barangay Poblacion, Tabuelan, Cebu morning yesterday.
Joem Galo Abasolo sustained severe injuries in the different parts of his body.
Chief Police Insp. Almirante Bacayo of the Tabuelan Police told The FREEMAN that around 10:45 a.m. yesterday, the child was playing beside the road with his sibling. But Joem lost his balance and fell on the pavement.
At that time, a six-wheeler Isuzu elf truck driven by Angelino Sequillo Jr., 20, who was also a resident of the said place, happened to pass by.
Sequillo did not notice the boy.
Abasolo was immediately rushed to the Juan Dosado Memorial Hospital in Sogod but was declared dead-on-arrival. Bacayo said they are still waiting for the decision of the family of the victim if they are going to file a case against Sequillo, who is now detained at the Tabuelan police station.
Sequillo might be facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide. (FREEMAN NEWS)
