CEBU, Philippines - The Lapu-Lapu City government through the office of Councilor Harry Don Radaza and the Youth Affairs Office, in coordination with San Miguel Brewery, Inc., will sponsor a concert for a cause called "Hinatagay" on December 26.
The concert, which will be held under the Marcelo Fernan Bridge, will present by some well-known bands in Cebu.
Other activities being lined up are paintball, longboard, rappelling, and wall climbing.
During yesterday's launching, Radaza said those who wish to see the concert would only have to bring three used clothes to get in.
San Miguel, for its part, will set up booths where beers would be on sale. Part of the proceeds will be used to buy food for volunteers such as the bands and youths from the Sangguniang Kabataan and SK office.
Radaza looks forward to turning this event into an annual affair.
He also said the City Social Welfare Services (CSWS) will determine which urban poor will become the beneficiaries of the used clothes.
Radaza said wide screens will also be put up near the stage so that spectators will know how many used clothes have been donated.
Girlie Garces, the press information officer of San Miguel, said before the concert proper, a mass feeding program for children will be held. — THE FREEMAN
