CEBU, Philippines – A supposed act of generosity ended up in a tragedy when a nephew shot his uncle dead in Medellin for forcing a passerby to accept his offer to drink.
Sernie Montaño, 43, died on the spot because of gunshot wounds in the chest and abdomen. He was having a drinking session with his nephew Harry Hesalan, 22, in Barangay Maharuhay, Medellin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday when an unexpected heated argument developed.
The argument started when a certain Evete Suarez passed by and was offered a drink by Montaño. Suarez reportedly refused the offer but the victim allegedly forced him prompting Hesalan to intervene.
Hesalan advised his uncle to leave the man alone but the victim allegedly got mad. Montaño pulled out a handgun and started shooting Hesalan but missed.
Hesalan who was also carrying with him a handgun shoot back hitting his uncle in the chest and abdomen. The Medellin police believe that the suspect used either a Caliber .357 or a .38 revolver because they found no empty shells at the crime scene.
A hot pursuit was conducted but the suspect has already fled from their place. (FREEMAN)
